About Me

I’m Louisa Butt - ADHD Coach, Consultant and Founder of The ADHD Way.

My work is rooted in the belief that you don’t need to be "fixed" – you need space to be fully seen, supported, and empowered to do life in a way that actually works for your mind.

I came to this work through lived experience. As a British Pakistani Muslim woman with late-diagnosed ADHD, I spent years trying to keep up, mask my challenges, and force myself to “do life right.” The more I tried to fit into systems that didn’t work for me – professionally, culturally, and emotionally – the more burnt out, disconnected, and frustrated I became. It was exhausting.

Everything changed when I started learning how to work with my brain, not against it. That meant unlearning the shame, honouring how I naturally function, and reconnecting with my identity beneath the mask. Coaching became a huge part of that process.

Now, it’s what I offer to others, through a process that’s validating, empowering, and grounded in real life.

My Story

Ambition, But No Map

Known for being bright and academically strong in school, I graduated with a degree in Journalism and Politics, landed a corporate job, and launched the English-language side of an Urdu community newspaper originally founded by my dad – blending my love of writing with a drive to amplify underrepresented voices.

On the surface, I was doing well. But underneath, I felt like I was constantly falling short of the life I wanted to build. No matter how hard I worked, I couldn’t keep up. I burned out repeatedly, spiralling into depressive episodes, then forcing myself to start again from scratch. It became a vicious cycle that slowly eroded my self-worth and self-trust.

I was repeatedly told I was “lazy” or “not applying myself”. But the truth was, I was working harder than anyone around me.

My Approach

Coaching with me isn’t about surface-level fixes or pushing productivity. We get curious, go deep, and make space for the full picture because lasting change starts with understanding how you work.

Client-Led

You lead the way. Each session centres what feels most urgent, meaningful, or alive for you – whether it’s a big goal, a small shift, or something you’re still trying to name.

Non-Directive

I ask powerful questions to help you untangle what’s happening beneath the surface, so you can make your own decisions with clarity and confidence, and start breaking free from what’s been keeping you stuck.

Strengths-Based

We build on what’s already there. Together we’ll spot the patterns, strengths, and sparks that move you forward and turn them into momentum.

Emotionally Attuned

I coach the nervous system, not just the mind. I listen for what’s unspoken and support you without judgement, even when the emotions are big or messy.

Real-Life Practical

We translate insight into action. You’ll leave each session with something that clicks; a shift you can feel and use, not just a nice idea that fades.

Why Work With Me

What I offer goes deeper than frameworks or tips. I combine lived experience, professional training, and a sharp lens on identity, culture, and context  so you’re not just supported, you’re understood.

Professionally Trained

Trained with ADDCA, the global leader in ADHD coach training, known for rigorous, evidence-based methods. You get support grounded in science, ethics, and practical tools that work.

Lived Experience

I’ve navigated life with undiagnosed ADHD, masking, burnout, misdiagnosis, and cultural pressure. I get it from the inside.

Intersectional Lens

As a South Asian Muslim woman with ADHD, I understand the layered challenges of identity, and why it matters in coaching. These layers can make everyday challenges feel heavier, which is why they deserve space and understanding in the coaching process.

Global Client Base

I've coached people across different cultures and contexts, which helps me bring an inclusive perspective while staying centred on what matters most to you.

Corporate and Creative Background

With experience in both journalism and the corporate world, I understand real-world pressure, and know how to hold space for both structure and soul.

Identity-Informed Coaching

You won’t have to explain yourself. I coach the whole person, not just the ADHD.

Ethical Practice

I do this work with depth, care, and integrity – because inadequate support can reinforce the harm people came to heal from.

Backed by a Trusted Network

Over the years, I’ve built a trusted network of professionals who share my values and see the whole person, not just a diagnosis. If you need support beyond coaching, I’ll help connect you to the right people – because healing and growth are community work, and no one should have to figure it all out alone.

Tools, Transcripts & Personalisation

You’ll receive optional session recordings, transcripts, reflection forms, and tailored tools to support your growth between sessions.

Access to Work

Coaching can be fully funded if you're UK-based and eligible. I accept Access to Work clients and can guide you through the process feel free to ask me all about it in a Chemistry Call.

Consultancy, Speaking & Collaboration

ADHD doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and neither do we.

I help organisations, brands, community spaces and educational institutions understand neurodiversity and how it intersects with culture, gender, faith and identity. This work isn’t just about access. It’s about relevance, representation, and real impact.

Ways we can work together:

  • Consultancy on ADHD inclusion, accessibility, and identity-aware practice

  • Speaking at events, panels, podcasts, internal sessions, or community forums

  • Workshops that educate, inspire, and challenge assumptions

  • Creative collaborations across media, community, and brand platforms

Whether you’re leading a team, shaping a message, or designing a service, understanding the minds you want to reach is essential. That means seeing people not just by diagnosis, but by lived experience.

I offer practical insight rooted in real life, helping you connect with the people often left out of the conversation. This is for organisations that want more than box-ticking. That want to build trust, not just awareness.

If you're ready for honest dialogue, deeper inclusion, and stories that resonate – let's work together.

More About Me

I'm a proud Northerner raised in Manchester, powered by curiosity, and emotionally supported by coffee and my British Shorthair, Winnie.

I live for deep chats, belly laughs, good food and the occasional philosophical crisis in a scenic location – ideally all at once.

I’ve always been drawn to the messiness of being human, fascinated by what shapes us, what drives us, and how we try to figure it all out.

I’m all about keeping it real, laughing through the chaos, and finding meaning without taking life too seriously.

When I’m not coaching, I’m probably plotting my next trip, lifting something heavy at the gym, or solving murders with yet another true crime podcast on a long walk.

Get in Touch

Whether you’re curious about coaching, my services, sharing ideas, or simply starting a conversation, I’m always happy to connect.
